Service Advisory: Power Event at Equinix MI6 (Miami)

On March 31, 2026 at 00:04 (local time), during routine maintenance on the UPS infrastructure, an unexpected fault occurred. During this activity, a breaker associated with UPS 1A1 tripped while work was being performed on UPS 1B1.
As a result of this event, both power feeds supplying our infrastructure were unavailable simultaneously, leading to a temporary outage of Netrouting services in this location.
Power was subsequently restored after Equinix engineers re-energized the affected systems and completed the maintenance work.
Customer Impact
- All Netrouting racks in 3 different cage areas at MI6 experienced a temporary outage
- The event impacted both A and B power feeds serving our deployment
- All services have since been fully restored
Root Cause
According to Equinix, the incident occurred during a planned maintenance activity on UPS 1B1, during which a breaker on UPS 1A1 unexpectedly tripped, resulting in a simultaneous loss of both feeds serving our environment.
Mitigation & Current Status
- Affected breakers were re-energized
- UPS 1A1 and 1B1 are operational and supporting load
- The facility remains stable and under monitoring
Netrouting Follow-up
All systems have been fully restored and are operating normally.
We are working closely with Equinix to review this incident in detail and will share further updates if additional relevant information becomes available.
